“Well it was bound to happen sooner or later.” That’s what my wife, Mendy told me when I informed her I would be racing the festarossa next weekend. The festarossa is my 1988 Ford Festiva, which is normally my daily driver. But not this weekend, No this weekend, he was a pylon dodging supercar. OK, maybe not a supercar, but I was looking forward to my first trip around the cones in about 4 years.

I had planned on driving the mustang, but since I couldn't seem to find the time to put the sway bars back on the car I had removed in the name of elapsed time, that was quickly ruled out. At first I was a little leary of bringing it to an autocross sponsered by the Porsche Club of America, but in the end I'm glad I did.

The autocross was held in Jefferson City, TN at a manufacuring facility. There were 40 registrants, and with the heat, they decided to break the field down into 4 groups of 10 to keep the same people from standing out in the heat picking up cones.

More... Man it was hot!!! Thankfully the the Porsche Club of America had the foresight to bring some shade and a bunch of water bottles for everyone.
